STRIKING 18TH CENTURY FORTIFIED PENINSULA
4000000
€
This striking 18th-century fortified peninsula is set on a plot of land of 50.000m2 bordering with the sea, and surrounded by countryside and autochthonous forests.
It is named in honor of King Charles III's brother, Don Luis Antonio Jaime de Borbón y Farnesio (1727-1785), Infante of Spain and the sixth son of King Philip V of Spain, who was married to Isabel de Farnesio, Duchess of Parma. He was Cardinal Archbishop of Toledo in 1735, Primate of Spain, Archbishop of Seville in 1741, and when he left the ecclesiastical state in 1754, he was named Count of Chinchón in 1761. He was an important patron who supported painters like Francisco Goya and Luis Paret, as well as musicians like Luigi Boccherini.
The fortified wall has 17 gun ports, although the castle only ever had 12 cannons, so some of the gun ports remained uncovered. The Castle withstood the invasion of Napoleon's troops and the incursions of numerous pirates, protecting the Venetian Route traffic in the Ría de Corcubión.
The property was carefully restored to its original state, but with all the comforts of the 21st century.
The built area is about 2,700m2. Inside this enclosure, surrounding the parade ground, there is a U-shaped building which is now a residence but was originally barracks for the troops, warehouses, a powder magazine, and other castle dependencies. It had a capacity for 96 men.
This residence is about 700m2 over one floor with with no architectural barriers, vaulted ceilings and sea views from every room of the castle. There are also views of the Pindo mountains (Celtic Olympus), and coastal towns. The property has 2 suites (bedroom with en suite bathroom and living area), 2 further bedrooms, 2 living rooms one with a very big fireplace, kitchen with fireplace, cellar and utility room.

It has mains water, central heating and private power line. Four interior gardens, wells and high-flow springs. It has direct access into the sea by a set of stairs, two sandy coves on the estate, and a cave. The property can be accessed by land, sea, and air.
It is situated in a privileged location in La Ría de Corcubión on the Costa da Morte, 12 km from Finisterre, the second most visited place in Galicia, the End of the Camino, 90 km to La Coruña and about 70 km to Santiago de Compostela (the two closest cities with airports and train stations).
Phone, mobile coverage, WIFI, and wireless alarm system.
Worth noting that the marina in Ría de Corcubión is being expanded.
